Do you need some help with your home-based business? Maybe you just started, and aren’t sure where to begin. On the other hand, maybe you have had your own business for a while, but are now at a standstill. It doesn’t matter where you are with your business; there almost always comes a time where you need a little help with it. The great thing is that there are many free resources where you can get help for your business, no matter what stage you are in.
If you are at a point where you need one-on-one help, and would love to talk to someone who has been in a similar situation, SCORE is the place you need to go. SCORE is an organization that helps people with their small businesses, for free. Their website offers free classes, articles, and guides to help you with your business. One of their most helpful tools though is free mentoring. You can look at a list of mentors, see if any has experience in what you are looking to do. You will be able to talk to them one-on-one about your business, whether on the phone, by email, or even in person. This is great if you have a specific business question, or just aren’t sure what to do next and want to talk to others to see what they think.
Another good resource is Entrepreneur. While they do have a magazine that comes out monthly that you can subscribe to, they also have a website. This website has many tools, articles, how-to guides, and a lot more about businesses. They have many suggestions on what types of businesses you can start, how to grow your business, and a lot more. The website is completely free for anyone to access, even if you don’t subscribe to the magazine.
The Small Business Administration (SBA) is another great free resource. It is a government-run website which offers help with starting a business, financing and managing it. They also have free online courses that you can take. There are many courses on starting a business, business planning, business management, financing and accounting, marketing and advertising, ecommerce, and a whole lot more!
The About.com site has a good home business section that you may find useful as well. They have many articles in all types of categories — starting and choosing your small business, how to balance working at home, financing your business, growing your business, and lots more. Again, it is all free information.
Another great way to get free help with your business is to go look for a forum. There are many forums out there that are dedicated to small businesses, home based businesses, online businesses, and more. You can just do a search on the type of business forum that you are looking for and you will probably find quite a few that will be filled with the type of people you are looking for. Many of them have a lot of free information from others that have gone through what you are going through now, and you can easily find answers to your questions there. Another great thing about these forums is that if you have a specific question, you can just post it, and get many replies, all for free!
There are many ways to get free help for your home-based business, no matter what type of help you are looking for. You just have to go and look for it.
