To be successful in Internet marketing requires sustained attention and focus.

And right there in my words above, is the main reason that many people are not successful on the Internet.

Here’s how it happens

You are a creative person. You have a good idea. You see all the possibilities. You get to work on it. Another good idea comes across your email inbox. You drop everything and pursue that “good idea.”

Rinse and repeat.

I see this happen everyday with my mentees and students.

Do you have EDD?

So what is EDD you may be asking?

EDD is a special form of Attention Deficit Disorder that you can find in many online entrepreneurs. I call it Entrepreneurial Attention Deficit Disorder.

Thus, EDD.

The Internet is set up in a way that makes this an easy “disorder” to acquire. Things are constantly changing and there are tons of distractions.

The cure for EDD

Would you like to get past your EDD and actually accomplish something?

Picture a round clock face, with the numbers starting at 12 and going all the way around to come back to 12.

The area in the first half of the clock, from 12-6, is where most creative people are excellent.

You get a great idea. You get excited about the great idea. You talk about the idea and think of all the things you could do, all the ways you could use the great idea, etc. etc. This process takes you from 12-6.

Then you get another great idea, run back up to 12, and then do the 12-6 cycle again.

In order to be successful, you need to become just as skilled and familiar with the 6-12 side of the clock as you are with the 12-6.

The 6-12 side of the clock involves creating an implementation plan, and then taking action on each one of the implementation steps.

This will take you full circle, back up to 12, which is called “money in your bank account.”
